CG Covid-19 E-Pass Application – Chhattisgarh
Introduction
In India, the Covid-19 outbreak changed people’s lives, with staying indoors being the new norm. Movement was restricted to stop the virus from spreading, which resulted in calm streets and a trend towards online communication and distant employment. Families supported one another and worked together to overcome obstacles in order to live with loneliness. The epidemic demonstrated the value of togetherness and the resilience of communities despite the dread and uncertainty. Staying at home evolved from a safety precaution to a method for people to support one another during trying times. Like many other places in the world, India saw significant changes to daily life as a result of COVID-19, with a stress on the importance of connections and perseverance in the face of difficulty. People all around the nation came to terms with the need to stay at home and overcame the difficulties with compassion and tenacity. The pandemic highlighted the value of personal connections and the strength of solidarity in the face of adversity.
The Problem
Even though implementing an ERP is indispensable in today’s day and age, a lot of firms are still lagging behind with manual systems in place. There could be multiple factors that affect an enterprise’s decision to implement an ERP. Technical knowledge for example. The very fact that some enterprises still don’t know of the existence of ERP is a foundational challenge for the adoption of such a technological marvel. Another factor could be lack of trust. Traditional businesses often don’t place their trust in modern inventions. They often like to carry their business, dependent on manual operations. Even if these 2 factors are overcome somehow, there still remains a major problem. If a firm would want to implement an ERP system, how would they know which one to implement? On what parameters should one judge the dependability of an ERP system? While this factor can still be tackled by appropriate marketing efforts, we also need to understand the problems that a business could face if a robust ERP system is not in place. For example, the business’ sales management would definitely fall apart without an ERP. Without an ERP solution, businesses may struggle with disjointed sales management processes. They could encounter difficulties in tracking sales orders, managing customer information, and forecasting demand accurately. This lack of integration may lead to inefficiencies, data inconsistencies, and missed opportunities for revenue growth and customer satisfaction. There are various such problems related to different verticals in a business that could start to dwindle if not automated. A challenge indeed, that needed a solution quickly.
The Vision
With such a problem at hand, it was imperative to improve the current operating procedure. It was important to speed up the approval process but it was also important to monitor and filter out fraudulent applications for the e-pass. A challenge so dynamic, it needed the best minds to improve the situation at hand and put an end to the misery of mismanaging outdoor movement applications. That is where AllSoft came in. With a team of expert visualisers and developers, we foresaw a solution that would solve the challenge at both its ends – efficiency and speed. The team at AllSoft, in collaboration with the government of Chhattisgarh, came up with a framework that would make it extremely easy for everyone to apply for an e-pass. Not just that, it would also help the government officials scan through the numerous applications with extreme seamlessness and also make the approval process smooth. The team at Allsoft gave birth to the E-Pass Application App to help the government of Chhattisgarh manage movement permission much faster and with a lot of ease.
What Was Done
We first identified the 3 key pillars on which the success of this project depended:
- Massive Demand: With Chhattisgarh’s considerable population, the system needed to be robust enough to handle a deluge of applications.
- Data Security: Ensuring the sanctity and security of sensitive data, like Aadhaar, PAN, and Driving License, was paramount.
- Constant System Uptime: The challenge was to maintain an uptime of 99.99%, essential for the uninterrupted delivery of services.
Drawing from the foundational principles of efficiency, security, and accessibility, we meticulously crafted a comprehensive strategy and solution to address the challenges at hand. Firstly, recognizing the diverse nature of travel requirements, we implemented Segmented Movement Passes, which offered tailored options for inter-city, intra-state, and inter-state movements, ensuring precise authorization.
To bolster trust and reliability, we integrated a state-of-the-art OTP-based mobile number verification system, enhancing the authenticity of each pass request. Furthermore, our innovation extended to the introduction of an Instantaneous QR Code System, assigning a unique QR code to every ePass generated. This streamlined verification processes, ensuring swift and hassle-free transit approval.
Embracing linguistic diversity, our solution was designed to be bilingual, accommodating both English and Hindi speakers, thereby promoting inclusivity and accessibility for all users. Lastly, prioritising data integrity and security, we proposed an uncompromised data storage approach, leveraging Amazon S3 infrastructure in strict adherence toMeitY India’s guidelines. This ensured robust protection and confidentiality of sensitive information, instilling confidence in users and stakeholders alike.
Having conceptualised the solution, AllSoft showcased a compelling demonstration to the state officials. Upon approval, a dedicated team was anchored at ITMS, Raipur. Using agile methodologies, the vision transformed into a reality.
